【明報專訊】Hong Kong produced around 1.37 million tons of waste paper in 2023, with only 42% of it collected by recyclers. Currently, only 0.7% of the collected waste paper is recycled into other paper products in Hong Kong. By the end of 2025, a paper pulp factory in Tuen Mun is expected to be capable of recycling all waste paper and beverage cartons collected in Hong Kong. According to the government, the factory will be able to process 0.63 million tons of waste paper per year.
