The government-appointed estate management company for Wang Fuk Court said on Saturday it is dedicating resources to facilitate the holding of a meeting for flat owners of the residential estate "as soon as practicable". Hop On Management, which was appointed following an inferno that devastated the Tai Po residential estate in November, was speaking days after its request for such a meeting to be postponed, on account of unprecedented challenges, was dismissed by the Lands Tribunal on June 2. In a statement, Hop On said its legal team is reviewing legal observations in the tribunal's judgement to ensure that work on the meeting – which has to be held after 247 Wang Fuk flat owners submitted a petition for a meeting to be held – proceeds in full compliance with the law. "We understand that owners wish to convene the meeting as soon as possible, and we remain committed to safeguarding the interests of all owners," the company said. "Despite the various challenges encountered during the preparation process, Hop On will continue to actively coordinate and follow up, with a view to implementing the arrangements as soon as practicable," it added. The company said it would continue to update all owners on the latest progress in a timely manner. Hop On also said it will continue to carry out its duties as the administrator in the meantime, which includes implementing refund arrangements. Edited by Azam Khan
