British foreign secretary to visit China from Monday
British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper will visit China this week, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday. The two countries will hold the 11th China-UK Strategic Dialogue during Cooper's visit from Monday to Wednesday. She'll meet with Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who earlier extended an invitation for the visit. The British government said Cooper will also meet with Vice President Han Zheng and travel to Shenzhen for a programme focussed on science and technology as part of the trip. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited China in January during which he held talks with President Xi Jinping, signalling a reset in ties.
