Cathay Pacific has announced changes to its boarding procedures, ushering in earlier gate closures and boarding times for all flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport. From June 1, boarding gates will close 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure for every Cathay Pacific flight. The airline also confirmed that boarding will begin five minutes earlier than what is currently the practice for all flights leaving Hong Kong. The moves, outlined in a statement from the carrier, are designed to improve punctuality and create a more relaxed pre-departure experience for passengers. Cathay Pacific said the adjustments were shaped by feedback from both customers and staff, noting that travellers value extra time to settle in before take-off. With earlier boardings and by closing gates sooner, the airline aims to better manage last-minute changes and final preparations, helping ensure departures will be on time. Passengers are being urged to check their boarding pass carefully for gate numbers, boarding groups and the new boarding times. Edited by Tony Sabine
