Customs officers on Wednesday said they recently seized smuggled goods worth HK$29 million onboard two ships bound for Macau. Bird's nest, tobacco and electronic products were among the items found on the boats near Tai Kok Tsui at the beginning of the month. The cargo also included Agar wood and shark fins and checks are to be carried out to see whether the items are protected under endangered species laws. Customs' Investigator of Syndicate Crimes Davis Kwok said an investigation is continuing into where the products came from and who they were being taken to. "It is still in progress and we will not rule out making arrests,” Kwok said.
